Tracy & Andrew’s Engagement Photos! – Edmonton Portrait Photographers

Hello again!  I bet all of our readers thought we were not going to blog again (we’ve been super busy, and long time no blog!).  We are catching up on our engagement sessions and weddings, and first up are ever cool: Tracy and Andrew!  The couple both attended U of A engineering, and though this is not where they met, we decided some photographs in the building would be awesome.  We also stopped at a park nearby to include a few photographs with their cute puppy dog!

Austin (Texas) in Black and White

Today I was cleaning up my desktop and came across a photograph taken in Austin, Texas while we were there last year at a film festival.  I love walking the streets of Austin at night… full of people going to or from the various no cover bars… every one of them with another singer/songwriter or up and coming blues or jazz band playing.  This particular night we saw more people with instruments than without!

I am not a landscape photographer!

There are two main reasons why I am not a landscape photographer.  Allow me to share one of them :)

Krister and I were on our way home from a cancelled engagement session out of the city.  ”I wonder what it feels like to be in a ditch”, Krister said.  There were many cars along the sides of the roads.

I noticed a beautiful frosted stop sign with icicles hanging in the most artistic way ever!  ”Stop the car” I said, and Krister did (he’s used to me being spontaneous).  We walked a ways to the stop sign, Krister carrying an umbrella overtop so the camera would not get wet.

“Shoot, no memory card”, I noticed.  Krister was grumbly.  It was not a great idea to have the umbrella out in such wind.  ”Just drive me back and I’ll shoot from the window” was my solution.  And as Krister was turning around on the narrow street with little visibility it happened…. we slid into the ditch.

We learned a few things:

#1. It’s tough to get out of a ditch on your own.  #2. Boston Pizza will not deliver pizza to a vehicle.  #3. Roadside assistance is wonderful even if it takes three hours to come.  #4. I am not a landscape photographer.

Krister tries to clear a path for us to drive the car out.

Mr. Foto (our car) in the ditch.

Krister ‘s feeble attempt to be rescued (writing “help” on our sun roof)

We are still in a good mood (this is before we found out we couldn’t have pizza delivered).
