… And here is part two of Stephanie and Kyle’s Trash the dress at a public beach in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico.

Edmonton & Calgary Wedding Photographers, & Portraits!

Stephanie and Kyle were an awesome couple we met up with in Mexico at the Grand Bahia Principe to take some cool trash the dress photos! They were up for anything, so we hit a public beach and used pretty much everything we came across for the photographs! Krister is a huge fan of black and white, while I can say I was not when I began photography. The longer I am photographing though, the more I am beginning to appreciate the purpose for black and white… the way it puts focus on the subject, not the colors, the classic and timeless look and feel it adds to a photograph and the way it displays lighting on an entirely different level from color. On this session I challenged myself to use color and black and white for EVERY image. Here are some of my favorite black and whites so far! Oh- and before I forget, a huge thanks to the family that helped us move our gear up and down the beach!
Stay tuned for part 2 (in 3D and color!…. Okay, not in 3D, but in color nevertheless!).

Alright, everyone can stop e-mailing and facebooking us — we’ll post part two of Ania and Jon’s trash the dress at Klondike Days (Capital Ex) in Edmonton! Ania and Jon looked stunning as the light started to fade on the grounds at Klondike Days. We took a ride on the ferris wheel, then some photographs in front of it.
As a child, when it became dark outside and the lights on the rides were shining it was a real magical time for me. My Dad used to time it so we were on the ferris wheel right during the start of the fireworks. Well, having a bride and groom to photograph at this location was just magical for me this year as an adult.
We were about to set ourselves up for some great firework photographs, when we noticed the new event of the year – flow boarding! We asked Ania and Jon if they minded getting a little wet (we had no towels as we didn’t expect for our session to end up in the water!). We were so excited when they agreed!
As we were already wet and having fun in the water, we capped off the night in front of City Hall where some really kind workers put off cleaning the pool for us to jump in and get some great photographs. This fun session made my month! And now, I’ll stop blabbing and share the second half of my favorites!

Welcome to part two of our favorites from Kristin and Luc’s Trash the Dress in Drumheller Alberta! As the sun began to set we started taking photographs in some hoodoo locations we had mapped out earlier. Kristin and Luc looked amazing against the setting sky!
Then we got in our cars and raced against the setting sun to our last location – a bridge/train tracks. While some kept watch for trains, the rest walked out onto the tracks for the last few photographs! A little gothic-looking, and a little riskiness (with Sue yelling “Krister get away from the edge!”), and we finished off the session :).
Enjoy!
