Want to learn what we do and how?

We are teaching!  Krister and I are teaching 3 courses at Metro Continuing Education this semester, and a bunch the semesters to follow.  The course we are offering is called: A Practical Introduction to Digital SLR Photography.  We will cover many topics from exposure and metering to shooting in manual mode with accessory flash.  We want our students to come away from this class with the ability to create technically perfect photographs.  Artistic vision grows its wings once a person gets all the techie stuff down.  If you are looking to become a professional photographer or even just a serious hobbyist, this course is the starting place for you!

Lindsay & Chris’ Wedding Photographs

Lindsay & Chris got married in Grand Prairie, Alberta.  I made the trip down the day before to scout out the photo locations and ceremony site.  The ceremony was beautiful, held outdoors outside of one of Lindsay’s friends’ house.  There were many beautiful details in this wedding, some of which I will post below.  Enjoy!

The groom delivered roses to the bride in the morning.

The bride and bridesmaids show off their dresses!

One of the adorable flower girls!

The older flower girl rings the bell outside the chapel at the museum!

My favorite photograph from the formals!

At the reception guests had to hoola hoop to get the bride and groom to kiss!

We titled this photograph the Cindy Lou Who from Whoville shot :).  She is so adorable!

I loved the originality of the wedding cake, and colours!

Lynn & Ryan’s Engagement Pictures

Lynn & Ryan did their engagement pictures on one of the hottest days of the summer.  We had many water breaks throughout.  They were troopers though, and so was their furry friend who must have been boiling more than we were!  Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Lynn, Ryan and their dog Cally!

Cally will get her kisses later :)

We found an old shopping cart and thought it would be fun to use for a few pics!

Celeste & Matt’s Wedding Photographs

Celeste & Matt had a beautiful wedding with many fun moments.  After selecting the pictures for this blog post I realize it’s a bit “getting-ready heavy”, but that’s okay :).  One of my favorite times in a wedding day is the preparation.  It lasts a looooong time and is full of details and cool moments.  Enjoy!

I’m a big fan of mirror shots.

Ring shot done in a funky way :).  I did a shot like this on a pear a few years ago and re-created it with a different finish.

Isn’t she a cute flower girl?

Gone are the days of love notes.  Today the love text is the way to go!

Something fun with the bridal party at City Hall.

On a hot Saturday, keeping cool is what it’s all about.  Getting a cool photo on top of that is even better!

We LOVE little white lights in a reception to add ambient light to the room and a neat background.  This is our first time actually making the lights the focus of a photograph.

And we’ll leave you with a first dance!
