Tamara & Jay’s Wedding Photographs

Tamara & Jay are a fan of black and white and requested a lot more black and white photographs than most couples do.  This was a lot of fun for me in editing as I love yummy black and whites!  The wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and the couple was just as stunning.  I have picked out my favorites from the day…

I’m a big fan of the bird cage veil.

And a German Silent Film era look was created in this photograph.  It’s one of my favorites!

The grand entrance…

These friends of the couple sang a song from the movie Juno!  ”I don’t see what anyone could see in anyone else… but you doo doo doo doo…”.  That was an absolute hit- everyone was smiling!

And the receiving line- one of my favorite things to photograph :).

Plain is in.

I’m becoming a big fan of the “twirl shot”.

Here’s a wide-screen shot inspired by a movie.  Can you guess which one?

Some of us are on the job even when we’re at a wedding.  The ring bearer sure is!

Cake cutting was a lot of fun.

And the first dance…

Erica & James’ Engagement Photographs

Okay, okay, so I know what you’re going to say- “there’s a lot of kissing shots!”.  Yup, all of my favorites from this shoot seem to be kissing shots, so here they are!  Erica and James were a lot of fun and up for anything.  We walked around downtown Calgary and found a lot of great spots for photographs.  Enjoy!

We found some construction going on below the Calgary Tower, and we used it for a few pictures!

Lately I really like shooting through things!  This is a shot through a gate, which I think adds a unique natural frame to the picture.

We did a few pictures of Erica and James separate as well.  I loved these pillars we found!

And this is one of my favorites- the old Calgary Legislative building.  A lot smaller than the one in Edmonton, and perfect for photographs of just two people.

I absolutely love the textured photograph below.  I can’t take credit for it, as the editing is all Krister, but I love how it turned out!

Catherine & Kevin’s Wedding Photographs

Catherine and Kevin’s wedding had a lot of fun moments.  They were not afraid to be themselves and show emotions even in the ceremony.  I had a blast photographing the day!

There wasn’t a moment in the day where Catherine wasn’t smiling!

The flower girl was the cutest!

Every woman has that “mirror face” they make :).

Dad puts a special heirloom watch on the bride before the ceremony.

Catherine and her father walk down the aisle…

Here’s one couple that is really happy to get married!

Catherine and Kevin sneak a kiss just after walking down the aisle.

The bride with her beautiful bridesmaids.

The groom and groomsmen strike a pose.

At Kevin’s place we found an old barn that made a perfect backdrop!

Here’s the newlywed’s dog Sassie.  They had her since they started dating in 2004!

What follows are photographs from the “screeching ceremony” which basically initiated Kevin into becoming an honorary Newfoundlander.  Kevin had to: put on a sou’wester, down a shot of Screech, recite, “Long may your big jib draw the ol’ cocky!” and kiss a cod!

The cod travelled over from Newfoundland in an ice bucket and was a week old!

The speeches kept everyone laughing!

And to wrap up this blog, the first dance.
