Aba & Nana are another one of our fun couples of 2009 who braved the cold and sacrificed warmth for some beautiful photographs. Our mini session lasted less than 40 minutes, but we walked away with a lot of great material. See for yourselves!

Edmonton & Calgary Wedding Photographers, & Portraits!

Ashley & Grant’s wedding took place during the first Saturday of the New Year. It was absolutely freezing (almost -30!). Despite the cold the wedding was really great. Susan and I switched out cameras so that they wouldn’t freeze during the formals, and had a great time being creative on a skating rink! Ashley, Grant and the bridal party were troopers and the photo shoot was a lot of fun!

The guys before the ceremony.

The ceremony was at the very beautiful St. Joseph’s Basilica.

A few pictures outside the church before the skating rink.

And now some pictures at the skating rink! Ashley bought some funky socks for herself and the bridesmaids to ensure everyone stayed warm.

Our “hockey night in Canada” photo.

Props to Jana (Ashley’s maid of honour)! Ashley’s flowers fell apart, and her maid of honour thought it would be cool to use them in some photographs :)!

The reception was at the Sutton Place Hotel in Edmonton. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the details were great!

I love the symmetry in this photograph! That is hard to find with photojournalistic photographs of people.

And we’ll leave you with some fun dancing!

Just so you know, we are not done posting our summer weddings, but interrupt the warmth to bring you some winter and snow. Starting off our snowy theme is Alana & Matt’s wedding. It was a wonderful and very original wedding that Krister and I had a blast photographing. Here are some of our favorites from the day.
When do we ever start off with a groom getting ready? Never. So here’s a first.

Alana’s veil was super long! The photograph below is her father putting on his gift to her- a necklace.

Super cool shoes for the groom and groomsmen!

And the ceremony begins at the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton.

I just love the emotions captured here!

The Best Man hesitates before deciding whether or not he will sign the register :).

And off to our favorite location to shoot at- Fort Edmonton Park. Hats off to Alana, Matt and the whole bridal party for freezing their toes in order to create some wonderful photographs!

I love these hat and mitten sets the bride got for the bridesmaids!

Here the guys get a little out of hand… :)

And now for some photographs of just the bride and groom…

And off the the reception at the Shaw Conference Centre! Here is a new yummy take on the traditional wedding cake.

We love taking guest photographs!

And the dancing begins!
